The castle of the bishops of Warmia, directly adjacent to the Krasicki Hotel, is one of the most valuable monuments of Gothic architecture in Poland. Built in the years 1350-1401, it is one of the best-preserved castles in Poland, called the Wawel of the North. In 2018, it was awarded the title of Monument of History. This is the place where Nicolaus Copernicus, Jan Dantyszek, Stanisław Hozjusz, Ignacy Krasicki, among others, lived and created. It offers several unique exhibitions - from archaeology, old weapons, artistic crafts, Gothic art, religious painting, to Polish contemporary painting. The latter exhibition is especially worth seeing - with works by artists such as Józef Mehoffer, Jacek Malczewski, Witkacy or Władysław Hasior, Zdzisław Beksiński, Jerzy Nowosielski, Jarosław Modzelewski, Edward Dwurnik - Kotwica is one of the most valuable collections of Polish painting from the end of the 19th century, through the 20th century, to the first decades of the 21st century.
